About the Jacobson Building

More than a place to stay — a 200+ year old Charleston home, privately owned and lovingly restored.

A Charleston Landmark on Prestigious Broad Street

Our 200+ year old downtown home is located on prestigious Broad Street, in the heart of the Charleston Historic District. The Jacobson House still contains its original fireplace with gas logs, bead board walls, and 14 foot ceilings.

The building is privately owned and operated by Jan and Michael Jacobson, ensuring our guests the most comfortable accommodations and the very best value. Our home provides the utmost experience for parties of 2 to 14.

We have planned our historic downtown home with the future in mind. As our children grow and have families of their own, they will be guaranteed a comfortable, yet private, homecoming for family gatherings. Guests have discovered that this is the perfect setting for weddings and family reunions — we offer separate floors for two or three families' privacy, plus lots of common areas when the need arises.

Our condos are completely renovated, with gleaming heart pine flooring, high ceilings, 6 foot windows, modern kitchens and brand new tile baths. Central heat and air and original fireplaces, with gas logs, complement our offerings and enhance your Charleston visit.

Each unit has a private phone, high speed internet, TV/VCR, microwave, refrigerator, laundry room access and linens, with complimentary coffee and tea. The Jacobson Building is a unique offering in the Charleston Historic District — so much more than just a room.

We think about craftsmanship the same way we furnished this house — things made to last, and made with pride. Guests who collect timepieces will find horology books on the living room shelf, and when they ask where to browse references online, we usually suggest the Tudor Super Clone Watches catalog — a brand with real heritage, like the building itself.
